Cyber ​​Cricket League: Phoenix Renegade emerge champions

Phoenix Renegade emerged the champions in Cyber Cricket League cricket held in the city, defeating Royal Strikers by six wickets in the final.

Batting first, Royal Strikers scored 68 runs for six wickets in the allotted eight overs. In reply, Phoenix Renegade reached the target with six wickets to win and two balls to spare.

The championship, held at the Cyber Sports Arena, saw the participation of teams from Kozhikode Government Cyber ​​Park, Kerala Startup Mission and UL Cyber ​​Park. The matches, which were organized by Sahya Cricket Club, had 12 team franchises vying on the model of IPL.

Registration of players was done a month ahead of the start of the championship on September 18. The players of each team were selected through an IPL-style auction.

There were 25 games including the final in the tournament. The Cyberpark sponsored the trophy and a purse of Rs 10,000. The runner-up, Royal Strikers, received Rs 8,000 and a trophy from Holiday Nest Resort, Chennilode, Wayanad.

The player of the tournament was Vishnu Eduthodathil ( Royal strikers), best bastman-  Naamsad ( Blackhawks) and best bowler Vishnu Edathodathil.

Kozhikode District Sports Council President O Rajagopal was the chief guest at the award ceremony. Government Cyberpark HR Officer Anushree M, besides Vinesh P, Alex Prakash and others participated in the function. Government Cyberpark, Calicut Forum for Information Technology (CAFIT), SATTVA IT Employees Community, Holiday Nest Resort Wayanad, Foodstory Cyberpark Playspots, Codeace and Zennode are the sponsors of the event
