Kerala to Host First Wedding and MICE Conclave in August 2025

Kerala is set to host its first Wedding and MICE Conclave from August 14 to 16, 2025, with the aim of positioning the state as a global hub for destination weddings as well as meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. The event is being organized by the Kerala Travel Mart Society in association with the Government of Kerala. The inaugural ceremony will be held at Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty Island, with Tourism and Public Works Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas inaugurating the event, Industries Minister P. Rajeev presiding, and Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal as the chief guest. The following two days will feature trade meetings and exhibitions at Le Meridien Kochi.

With the theme ‘Centre Stage Kerala,’ the conclave will showcase the state’s tourism potential beyond leisure travel, highlighting beaches, backwaters, hill stations, cultural heritage, architecture and cuisine. The focus will be on strengthening Kerala’s profile in niche segments such as destination weddings, large-scale corporate events and international conventions.

So far, 658 buyers have registered, including 603 domestic participants from 25 states and delegates from 19 foreign countries such as the UAE, UK, Germany, USA, Australia, Brazil and Canada. A total of 65 exhibition stalls will feature sellers from hotels, resorts, convention centers, wedding planners, floral designers, photographers, caterers and bridal service providers. The event will serve as a strong B2B networking platform, with trade meetings scheduled from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, alongside two national seminars discussing future vision and growth strategies for the wedding and MICE sectors. Expert-led workshops will focus on marketing, logistics and technology adoption.

To give delegates a first-hand experience of Kerala, curated tours will be arranged to destinations including Kochi, Munnar, Kumarakom, Kollam, Kovalam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Bekal. These tours will combine the state’s natural beauty with cultural experiences, offering a complete tourism showcase.

Since its formation in 2000, the Kerala Travel Mart Society has worked to promote Kerala tourism and provide a platform for global travel agents and local service providers. The Wedding and MICE Conclave marks another milestone in diversifying the state’s tourism portfolio and is expected to accelerate Kerala’s emergence as a premier destination for high-end weddings and world-class events.
