The fifth edition of the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) Stakeholder Meet concluded successfully in Pushkar, Ajmer, setting the stage for the upcoming RDTM 2025 scheduled to be held in Jaipur from September 12 to 14. Organised jointly by the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) and the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the meet brought together key policy makers, tourism stakeholders, and industry leaders to discuss the framework and vision for this year’s event.
Held in the culturally significant town of Pushkar, the meet was graced by dignitaries including Shri Shakti Singh Rathore, IAS, Divisional Commissioner of Ajmer; Shri Lokbandhu, IAS, Collector of Ajmer; Shri Ajay Sharma, Joint Director, Department of Tourism; Shri Surendra S Shahpura, Senior Vice President, FHTR; and other prominent members from FHTR and RATO. Their presence added weight to the deliberations aimed at strengthening Rajasthan’s position as a top-tier tourism destination.
The theme for RDTM 2025 — ‘Explore, Discover, Experience and Meet in Rajasthan’ — encapsulates the initiative’s objective of showcasing the state’s vast tourism offerings, from heritage sites and vibrant culture to local enterprises and curated experiences. The Pushkar Meet, preceded by earlier stakeholder gatherings in Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh, emphasized collaboration among hoteliers, travel professionals, wedding planners, and entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the meet, Shri Shakti Singh Rathore highlighted that hosting such stakeholder interactions in heritage cities like Pushkar significantly boosts local tourism and the regional economy. He noted that the Rajasthan government envisions tourism not just as recreation, but as a crucial avenue for development and employment generation. Collector Shri Lokbandhu echoed these sentiments, stating that events like RDTM benefit local communities directly by spotlighting their culture, cuisine, handicrafts, and hospitality before a national audience.
Shri Ajay Sharma reaffirmed the Department of Tourism’s commitment to supporting initiatives like RDTM, which help translate policy into action and steer attention toward lesser-known destinations across the state. Senior Vice President of FHTR, Shri Surendra S Shahpura, stressed that RDTM serves as a powerful platform for tourism entrepreneurs to connect with serious buyers, creating new avenues for dialogue, partnership, and business.
RDTM 2025 is being organized with the support of leading national and state-level tourism bodies including HRAR, IHHA, RATO, IATO, ADTOI, PATA, TIE, and the Global Association of Events & Hospitality Professionals. Their collaboration ensures a strong, unified effort to enhance Rajasthan’s appeal as a tourism and events destination.
The previous edition of RDTM witnessed over 240 national buyers and 280 sellers from Rajasthan, facilitating more than 7,000 B2B meetings. The event proved to be a productive platform for generating leads in hotel bookings, travel experiences, and destination weddings — a testament to its growing impact on the tourism industry.
RDTM 2025 in Jaipur promises greater participation and expanded business opportunities. Stakeholders interested in being a part of this impactful tourism initiative are encouraged to register via the FHTR website at https://fhtr.in. As the preparations gather momentum, Rajasthan continues its journey toward becoming not only India’s tourism pride but a global showcase of heritage, hospitality, and cultural richness.
