Rotary Club of Trivandrum Suburban Launches District Project “UYARE” at HHMNSS College for Women

Trivandrum, [Date]: The Rotary Club of Trivandrum Suburban launched its ambitious district project “UYARE” at HHMNSS College for Women, Neeramankara, Trivandrum, with a dual focus on community empowerment and sustainable entrepreneurship. The launch event also featured a practical training session on the art of making organic handmade soap.

Rtn. Albert Alex, District Project Chairman of the Rotary Club, inaugurated the event, marking a significant milestone for community development initiatives in the region. Speaking at the ceremony, Rtn. Dr. Baiju Ramachandran, President of the Rotary Club, emphasized the importance of empowering local communities through sustainable practices.

Highlighting the educational aspect of the project, Rtn. Dr. Saritha K R, Satellite Club President, underscored the role of practical skills training in fostering entrepreneurship among youth. Dr. Aswathy.P, coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Club, elaborated on the strategic collaboration between educational institutions and community organizations to nurture innovative ventures.

A key moment of the event was the symbolic handover of soap-making moulds and raw materials by Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad to the members of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC). This gesture underscored the commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives in sustainable livelihoods.

In his address, President Rtn. Dr. Baiju Ramachandran outlined the club’s initial plans to create a market for organic soaps crafted by local youth, encouraging them to cultivate savings habits alongside their academic pursuits. This initiative aims to instill entrepreneurial skills and promote environmental sustainability within the community.

The launch of “UYARE” signifies a collaborative effort towards building a resilient and self-sufficient community through education, innovation, and sustainable practices.
